"What can I say? Boot Camp is fun and filled with really supportive humans!" shares Wreck-it Red. After years of focusing on family and career, she yearned for a new challenge. Despite never having skated before, she embraced the opportunity to try roller derby.
"I was a wreck on wheels!" she laughs. "But the amazing instructors and fellow skaters were incredibly encouraging. I learned at my own pace and gradually gained confidence. Now, a year later, I'm a drafted skater! You get what you put into it!"

"I had absolutely no clue I was going to play Roller Derby!" exclaims Yogi Bearricuda. "I had never played a sport in my life!"

"They are very supportive of my slow growth and saw my potential," she shares. "This team became my friends when I didn't have any."

4. Rajun: From Boot Camp to RollerCon
"It has officially been 1 year since I joined the Beet City Bombers Boot Camp," shares Rajun. "I barely knew what I was doing when I first joined and was terrified."
Despite initial nerves, Rajun quickly felt welcomed and included within the supportive environment of the boot camp.
"I learned so many amazing skills in such a short amount of time," she says. "This boot camp truly brought me joy."
Within months, Rajun was drafted onto the team, played numerous games, and even attended RollerCon in Las Vegas. Her story exemplifies the rapid progress and exciting opportunities that await those who embrace the roller derby journey.
